Play-Doh Monsters
This is one of the most time consuming activities we’ve done. I think we played for over an hour. G had so much fun adding eyes and moving them around. I’m sure we will be doing this again soon.
Baking Soda Dough
What you’ll need:
1 cup of baking soda
1/2 cup of cornstarch
3/4 cup of water
(Food coloring if you want to add color)
*pictures to come*
Combine all ingredients in a medium sized pot at medium heat. Stir for a couple of minutes until it starts to form a dough, play dough consistency. Once you can form it into a ball remove from heat, into a bowl. Cover the bowl and let the dough cool off. Once cool, remove from bowl, and kneed. If still sticky add more corn starch. Roll out dough to about a 1/4 inch in thickness and preheat oven at 175°F. After you roll out, you can use cookie cutters to make shapes. Place on a lined cookie sheet for an hour, turning them over after 30 minutes.
If you’re making ornaments, make sure you make the hole for hanging before baking. A straw works great and makes a perfect hole.
